Great Island Theatre is a community-led project to create a vibrant, accessible theatre in the heart of Cobh — built by the community, for the community.

Our future home is the Old Parochial Hall, secured and held in trust. We are now at a pivotal stage: raising the funds needed to complete the purchase and transform this historic building into a fully functioning theatre.

The theatre will seat 100 people, with approved parking in the nearby Cathedral Car Park, and will support a wide range of performances — from drama and music to dance, spoken word and community events.

The space will include a fully equipped stage with professional lighting and sound, a welcoming entrance on Roches Row, and accessible changing rooms and facilities — all designed with inclusivity and community participation at its core.

Our mission is simple:
to advance the performing arts on Great Island by giving local groups a permanent home to create, perform and connect.
